TUITION:
- Lesson payments are based on a set monthly tuition in the amount of 4 or 5 lessons.
- Monthly tuition is due at the first lesson of each month. Payments made after the 15th of each month will incur a $20 late fee.
- The lesson time is reserved for you! Please try to schedule doctor, dental, hair or any other kinds of appointments on other days that it does not conflict with your lesson time. These will be unexcused and will NOT be made up or reimbursed.
LESSON REGULATIONS:
- Lessons are by appointment only. Time slots are scheduled prior to the start of each school year.
- It is strongly urged that parents of minor students attend lessons at least once a month. Regular lesson attendance helps with steady improvement and focused study at home. Parental support is an extremely important factor in musical training. Children, whose parents take an active and honest interest in their child’s progress, tend to be more enthusiastic and productive.
- Lesson time must remain as focused as possible. Siblings or visitors are welcome to attend, provided they remain quiet and cause no distraction.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY:
- Lessons cancelled with less than 24-hour notice will be subject to forfeiture.
- Students are permitted three absences in a six month period for which a makeup lesson will be offered, and four vacation days per year for which they do not need to pay or make up. As a courtesy, please inform of your vacation plans at least one week in advance. Makeup lessons will not be rescheduled if cancelled by the student.
- Credits for the missed lesson will be given towards the next month’s tuition ONLY when the lesson is cancelled by the instructor.
- Emergency situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
- If the teacher cancels a lesson, every effort will be made to schedule a make up lesson. If one cannot be schedule, that lesson fee will be credited to the next month’s tuition.
PRACTICE AND PREPARATION:
- Diligent lesson preparation at home is required for all students. Students are expected to practice a minimum of 5 days a week for the time duration assigned. It may be helpful to divide the practice into two or more blocks of time. Progress depends on daily practice which should assume the same priority as homework. It takes committed practice on a daily basis during the week to put skills covered at the lesson into motion.
- Students are to come to the lessons ready to learn with clean hands and trimmed nails.
LESSON TERMINATION:
- If a student wishes to discontinue lessons, the two-week paid notice is required. The student may take the lessons covered by the notice or may pay for two lessons and leave immediately.
